Location
Barefoot Villas is located in Nateen, a small village on the edge of bustling Aonang. The villas are on a quiet no through road surrounded by lush palm and rubber plantations. Behind the Villas is a National Park area.
Aonang, with its huge range of restaurants, entertainments and shopping options is a short 5 minute drive from the villas.
The villas are located in a perfect position as a base to explore Krabi. Just 40 minutes from Krabi Airport and close to all the best beaches.
Please note that taxi's are quite expensive in Krabi and public transport is very limited, it's best to rent mopeds or a car so that you can get around and explore the area. Just ask and we will be able to help you rent.
Bicycles are also available to rent if you prefer a little excercise.
About Krabi
Krabi's dramatic mountain scenery combined with crystal clear water has ensured Krabi's reputation as one of the top destinations in Asia. In contrast to Phuket's big city feel, Krabi has managed to maintain its fishing village vibe while at the same time providing all the requirements for a growing tourist industry.
There are so many things to see and do in Krabi. There are the boat trips to the Islands, day trips to some amazing National Parks with Emerald Pools and waterfalls, and then there are the Temples and markets. If you feel like some activity, there is scuba diving, rock climbing, kayaking, white water rafting, horse riding and lots more.
A great way to get to know the area is to rent a car and just go for a drive. There are great roads up and down the coast with spectacular views around every corner. Or go Inland to explore the amazing Temples, mountains, caves and lakes. The roads in and around Krabi are not busy and easy to find your way around.
There are two tides in any 24 hours moving forwards about 1 hour each day. Most of the beaches are bext for swimming at high tide, but for walking and shell collecting, low tide is the time. Check the tide chart on our About Krabi Page, This will give you the tide times for each day this year.
The climate in Krabi is traditionally split into two seasons; a drier cooler season from November through to about May and then a wetter warmer season from June Through to October. High season for the tourism industry is from November through to March.
